One week after Ibizaah! went live Google Analytics has counted 3,489 unique visisitors.
70% of vistors came from Spain (where I was born) after Ibizaah! got a small review by one of the most popular blogs in Spain, Putalocura.com in this post.
The highest spike happened last Thursday, October 29, the same day Ibizaah! got the review done by Torbe himself, the owner of Putalocura. That day visits tripled, going from about 500 to 1,463 the next day (thanks Torbe
).
Here is the screenshot from Google Anaylitics:

Putalocura.com has about 100,000 unique visitors a day and has ranked among the most visited blogs in the world for about 5 years already. The fastest way to get free traffic to your site is to have a popular blog review your site or product.
Then is up to you to keep these visitors coming back. If your site has great content, or your product is something people really want they will come back, if they don’t.. there is something that needs to be improved.
In the case of Ibizaah! most first time visitors never came back, bummer.. I am not surprised since Ibizaah! is an application that would be mainly used at parties. Most parties happen during the weekends so it is not surprising that traffic went down the next day. However, this weekend (the first weekend since the traffic spike caused by Putalocura;s review) traffic has not gone up and seems to be stabilizing at about 500 uniques a day.
Still most of these visits come referred from the same review, making visits from Spain about 70% of all the traffic Ibizaah! has received so far in its first week since birth.
Conclusion
It is too early to tell if traffic will keep going down. The best proof that Ibizaah! is a weekend product will be traffic results next weekend. So stay tuned to see if in fact Ibizaah! users come back next weekend!
Ibizaah! is a side project, it is an opportunity to experiment with a product, marketing and learn from the results.
So far, the most effective way to drive traffic to Ibizaah! has been getting a review from a prominent blog.
Now it remains to be seen what else can I do to keep people coming back. Suggestions?
